Sylvia Verange is a classically trained artist who works in pastels, oils, watercolors and drawings.
By combining classical forms with a more contemporary use of color and design, Verange creates paintings exuding a rich vibrancy of textured layers. Her work has been referenced to the strong bold blocks of color seen in the work of Andre Derain, co-founder of Fauvism, with Henri Matisse. The work of Pierre Bonnard also comes to mind with the use of multiple colors moving across the surface. Verange's unique training and decades of practiced discipline gives her work both authenticity and depth.
Sylvia Verange show currently mounted at Lincoln Park Wine bar through April 2017. Reception February 15th, 5 pm - 7 pm · 198 Sir Francis Drake Blvd, San Anselmo
